Welcome to the 18th Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Diseases (online) meeting

Coronavirus update March 2021

Given the ongoing incertitude concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 EEID meeting will be entirely virtual. After last year’s cancellation, we think it is important to provide a platform where the EEID community can meet again, and where young (and not so young) scientists can exchange ideas and results and foster new collaborations.

The meeting will take place in a virtual environment (gather.town) and will run over 4 consecutive afternoons (14-17 June, 3pm – 7pm Central European Time). Each afternoon will start with two keynote speaker presentations, followed by an extensive discussion on the topic (see keynote speaker page). To minimise screen time, there will not be any short talks. Instead we will provide a rich ‘poster’ environment, where poster-presenters will be on hand to present and discuss their research with other participants. The bravest of them all will be able to submit a 1-minute ‘teaser’ to accompany their poster (please see the ‘Poster’ page for more information). We will also provide numerous ‘meeting rooms’ for those of you who wish to get together to discuss science.

The meeting is entirely free (no registration fee) but registration is compulsory.

We know that this is not what most of us were hoping for but we will do our best to keep the spirit of previous EEID meetings alive (minus the evening mojitos).

We hope to ‘see’ you in Montpellier in 2021. In the meantime, take care of yourselves and stay safe !!!!
